“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life forever.”

We are nimble, our knowledge is deep, and our curiosity is relentless.
Each member of the team has 15+ years of experience, and our collective expertise spans UX, psychology, anthropology, industrial design, graphic design, and engineering.

Like many in our field, my path to UX was less conventional. I left the world of child clinical psychology to join the world of “usability” (which preceded our field’s rebrand to “User Experience (UX)“). My passion is harnessing the power of storytelling, using research and design to drive change. My most meaningful engagements are those where I can closely collaborate with product and developers.
I am fortunate to have worked across a variety of industries and products, which allows our team to innovate and carry over learnings and best practices to every client partnership.
In my off hours, I enjoy capturing human experiences and moments in pictures (I’m a Nikon guy…).

Hi! I'm Whitney. Prior to getting into UX, my background was in psychology, sociology, and anthropology research. I studied various cognitive processes focused on perception and executive function and theories of how we understand ourselves and one another in evolving social contexts. These past 15+ years in the world of UX, I have been thoroughly enjoying examining human themes through the realm of technology and design, via an ever-evolving toolbox of user research and discovery. When I’m not UXing, I am a community organizer, seeker of weird yarns to knit weird things, and lover of long walks through the city. My happy place is a road trip filled with roadside oddities, time capsule motels, and impromptu strolls in the woods.

I consider myself to be a generalist who can specialize when needed. Having a generalist mindset allows me to think broadly about problems and pull from my experiences in mechanical engineering, industrial design, development, and everyday life to generate solutions.
As the first employee of Traceable Change, I have contributed our growth as UX focused organization. We’ve evolved our processes to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of design. As a result we are continuously improving our design methods, strategies, tools, and technologies.
In my free time, I am heavily involved in several community music ensembles.

I’ve spent nearly two decades working across visual design and user experience, and I genuinely love the craft. I started out as a hands-on creative and, over time, grew into a strategic design partner, someone teams rely on to make thoughtful, practical decisions about what to build and why. Grounded in UX principles and visual systems, I focus on turning complexity into clear, cohesive experiences that feel intuitive and well-crafted.
Outside of work, I spend my time with my wife and two kids, chasing small adventures and soaking up the everyday moments. I’m an avid metal detectorist with a love for hidden history, and a watch collector who appreciates the craftsmanship and mechanics behind each timepiece. My curiosity doesn’t stop at the studio door, it’s just part of how I move through the world.

Martin and Whitney started TC in 2014 because they wanted to break away from the bureaucratic constraints of large agencies and live out the best of what UX has to offer - flexibility, innovation, and a truly collaborative creative process. They found an amazing team with deep, diverse skills and, together, have been able to honor these core values in our work and relationships. It continues to be a joyful and exciting labor of love.
