Research
Conduct foundational research with current (technical) and target (business) end users to understand the intricacies of usage behaviors and wants and needs for a better experience. These interviews involved a complex set of user profiles as we needed to understand the users that perform replication, and also the users that play a tertiary role around this process.
Analysis
Conduct a deep dive design analysis on the client’s existing data replication interface to understand depth of function and areas of opportunity. We also revisiting DI data discovery and lineage designs we had done for the client prior to see how this could be integrated.
Insight Generation
Transform user insights and design analysis into an actionable design strategy collaboratively with the client’s product and SME teams.
Design Development
Create designs with weekly collaborative working sessions and periodic user validation research to ensure ongoing design maintains the best direction.
Results
An updated, simplified, cohesive data replication workflow that integrates the client’s existing data intelligence interface and capabilities.
The updated workflow experience simplifies a previously disparate task flow into a single space with a meaningful progression of tasks. The integrated data intelligence capabilities allow the user to find the data they need within the same workflow. It also integrates our previous data lineage designs to visually aid the source to target mapping experience.
